Melissa Koomey, MBA

Melissa Koomey is a biopharma leader with 30 years of commercialization experience. She has a track record of delivering business results and leading organizations through multiple successful product launches.

Melissa currently serves as President and General Manager of Recordati Rare Diseases North America. Prior to this role, she was Chief Commercial Officer of Bluejay Therapeutics, where she led commercial strategy and launch preparation for this Series B biotech until its successful acquisition by Mirum Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Bluejay, Melissa spent 12 years in commercial leadership roles at Gilead Sciences, Inc., including Head of Global Commercial Operations; General Manager of Gilead Sciences Canada, and Vice President of Gilead's $14B US HIV Business Unit.

She has served as a director on the boards of biopharma industry organizations and not-for-profit boards including Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC), BIOTECanada and the US National AIDS Memorial. Melissa received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
